Sushil Sarkar, PhD is a seasoned learning and development professional who has a passion for lifelong learning. He has more than 30+ years of proven experience across divers organizations in design, development, delivery and evaluation of training & skill development programmes and coordination of research & development functions in three United Nations Peacekeeping Missions (UN Mission in Sudan-UNMIS, UN Mission in South Sudan -UNMISS & UN Mission in Liberia -UNMIL), BRAC Bangladesh & BRAC Afghanistan, UNDP India, UNDP Bangladesh, UNOPS Bangladesh, CARE International and OXFAM (UK), Bangladesh. He is the former Chief Training Officer for the Civilian Pre-deployment Training (CPT), Department of Peace Operations, United Nations, Uganda/USA. Mr. Sarkar has provided various consultancy and advisory services to the government of Bangladesh, government of Afghanistan, government of Sudan, government of South Sudan, government of Liberia and various UN agencies such as UNDP, UNOPS, WHO & UNICEF, national and international NGOs such as save the children UK, USAID, Oxfam UK, etc.. Mr. Sarkar is currently in Bangladesh and set up a consultancy firm namely ‘Management & Skill Development Institute’ and acting as the CEO & Principal Consultant. His areas of expertise are human & technology skill development, management & leadership, youth skill development, project management, corporate training, customize training, eLearning, blended learning, curriculum development, instructional design, gender equality, inclusiveness & development, environment & sustainable development, peacebuilding, research and development and career support services. Sushil has Master Degrees in Sociology, Master in Education and Master of Business Administration degrees. He earned his PhD degree from the Throne of Grace International Open University, India. He also completed Post Graduate Degrees in Human Resources Management, NGO Leadership & Management and United Nations Requisitioner Programme. Sushil holds the Certified Training Processional (CTP) and PRINCE2 Project Management practitioner designations. He is a member of various professional organizations both in Bangladesh and abroad. He has had articles published in Training & Development Magazine. He is also an author and coauthor of several training and trainer’s manual and modules. He is one of the recipients of the “National Youth Leadership Awards-1988” Bangladesh for his outstanding leadership and services to society. Mr. Sarkar is an excellent role model and guide who values professionalism, creates vision, and source of inspiration and empowerment for others.
